Well after 8 months of waiting....I got a call from the dealer that my dashed has arrived. Going in Monday for the install, they were surprised I still had the truck after 225K miles! Pics to follow....

That's absolutely ridiculous in regard to the wait time for a replacement.

Took my '04 in on a Monday, was told to come back on Friday and drop it off for few hours. Replaced and installed.

This was over a year ago when they first announced the recall program. Had it done in Virginia Beach.

I got the same call two days ago after waiting over a year! Getting it done in mid march at a chesapeake dealer.

I was told if you weren't already on a list that they would no longer honor the replacement. Is that true?

The deadline is indeed in May 2017, not sure what day in May so I would act now to get on the list, go to your local dealer to have them run the Vin and if your T4R is covered do the inspection and then place the order for your dash and put you on the list/waiting line, it only took a few minutes when I took mine in!!

I requested mine a few weeks ago on a Saturday. Dash came in on Monday and I scheduled the replacement the next Saturday. Painless experience for me.

my dash isn't cracked, is there any danger of this happening?

Depends on how much it parks in the sun. My '05 wasn't cracked in when I bought it in 2014 (garaged its whole life), but cracked about 6 months later since I parked in the driveway.

It came from a bad batch of dashs installed - it would have shown some sign of wear at this point whether it being a major crack or a minor one. Luckily mine started cracking smack dab center on passenger side so it was pretty obvious mine was part of the bad batch. I did note very small cracks on the bottom left corner area, however

May 31st, 2017. After that secondary coverage kicks in until sometime in 2020 if I remember right? But the problem is that Secondary coverage is 10yr/100k from DOFU (Date of First Use) so when it kicks in at the end of May 4Runners are out of the running for extended warranty unless it's a case by case basis.

Well I got great news today, they called to tell me my dash is in, really surprised me, it been less than 3 months!!

I feel great for me but really bad for those that have been waiting longer.
