Cracked Dash

The dash in my wife's 04 has small cracks on it where it curves from the front to the top right abouve the glovebox. It looks like the previous owner possibly put there feet there. Does anyone have any luck/experience repairing something like this or is that really an option? I'm not sire but I feel pretty sure that replacing it would be major bucks and prolly not something I could tackle. Any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Wanna buy my dash cover? PM me if interested.

Thanks for mentioning the dash cover but I think I'll pass. Let us know what other ideas are when you get it done....I'd like to see and hear what you came up with when you're thru.

Sorry about the double post on the original...it wasn't intentional at all.

I have one really small little crack on the passenger side of my dash and when I drove around town and talked to people about how to fill it in so that it becomes almost invisible, EVERYONE I spoke to was completely CLUELESS.

So now I also remain so..

i have cracks also.....

04 Limited V8 - 103k. One smaller crack near glove box and one painfully large one. The big one starts just above glove box, up complete vertical face, 2 inches into upper dash, then left turn for 4-5 inches. Trust me, will kill resale as confirmed by local dealer when i went in to mess around with a new one. They will take off $1,500 from trad as it isn't repairable. Full retail for part is $1,160. Installation is $835. Online the part can be had for around $850 but shipping is around $50. Plan on getting another 8 yrs out of mine so I'm going to suck it up and do the job myself. The manual makes it look a bit harder than the timing belt I just did - probably will eat my whole weekend. HATE the removal of the two airbags.... Don't care what the manual says on precautions. I'll be crapping in my pants when I both disconnect and reconnect both (steering wheel horn assy and passenger) as when I swapped out the steering wheel on my Accord. Will order part within a week then keep you informed on my adventure.

I have a 2005 garage kept 4 runner 69000 miles and the dash cracked..and believe me noone has set anything on it, put feet on it , I am anal about car care...so you can imagine my panic when I saw the crack...I called toyota to be told I was the only person they had ever had complain about this however they would log my call and if they got more calls they would look into it. Since them I backed my car out for a few hours to detail the car I got distracted for a little while after doing the outside so the car sat for couple hours, I then went to detail the inside took a rag to wipe the dust off the dash and it stuck to it..the dash wash sticky feeling...I hage nevef used anything on it due to many many years ago we used a product on our dashes only to find everyone we ever talked to that used it had cracked dashes and the company admitted to that statement as well...so I again was distraught. .....I ended up going to buy a meguires product for the dash to remove the towel lint and protect thhe dash.....
