I was dealing with the same issue, I checked this post out and found out I had a recall. I went to Toyota today and there ordering me a new one for free.. im super stoked .

Got my "2nd" letter today.

After a quick call do the dealer ship parts are still on back order for me...

I'm glad not everyone is having to deal with this. New dashboards look great in the 4Runners people have been able to get done so far :thumb:

YES! I took my recall notice to Toyota of McKinney (TX), and the service manager took a quick look at my dash, took a couple pictures, and said they'd order one for me. I haven't had my gas pedal taken care of yet either, so I'll have them do that at the same time.

My dash doesn't look anywhere near as badly cracked as many who've posted here. The service manager told me if you go there, you don't need to wait for your paperwork. They will take care of you. I don't know if all dealerships are doing it this way, or if there is an incentive for them for each one they do, but all I know is I have 226k miles, AND I'M GETTING A FREE DASHBOARD!!!!

Hey guys, I need some help.

I don't think my dealer ordered the right dash. They ordered 04005-15135-B1

I'm unsure which interior I have, but its a 2003 Silver Limited. The interior looks like this picture:

I've had a few people say they should've ordered the -B0 color code.

They ordered the part over 5 weeks ago, I've called and still no update. They insist they ordered the right one and claim they ordered it by VIN and couldn't have messed it up.

Has ANYONE had their dash replaced with a "-B1" part no.? My current theory is Toyota isn't making a B1 color and that's why it hasn't come in. Plenty of people on here are getting their dash's replaced without much delay but all I've seen is -B0, so I feel like my dealer ordered the wrong part (that's not in production).

So I guess two questions,

Did they order the right one?
If so has anyone received a -B1 dash?

Any help?

Bump for help

I honestly don't see the issue... Do you have a before & after or something? I've got the exact same interior. I don't see anything wrong.

According to others on this thread, my dealer ordered the wrong part #

Other members on this thread are getting their dashes replaced within a few weeks, whereas mine has been "on order" over a month

I'd rather not wait a month or longer for the wrong part, so I'm seeking clarity on the part # that should be ordered for my color interior.

Gotcha! I'll have to pay attention too then, and check what the dealer ordered for mine!

Hey just a heads up for everyone, I see some folks are still waiting on their second letter. I received both of my letters, no big deal, but when I made the appointment to have the dash replaced the service manager did not mention the letters at all. The only thing she said was that they'd need to take pictures of the cracks and send them off to toyota for approval, a short while later she said it was approved, still no mention of the letters, and now I have an appointment for next friday to get the dash replaced. She ordered the dash the day after the pictures were approved and it took about 3 weeks to show up So it might be beneficial for anyone waiting on the second letter to go to their dealer and have them look at their dash. Could get things headed in the right direction with out a second letter which seems to be meaningless anyways.

Lol, I received 0 letters and mine was replaced a couple weeks ago. Just needed the case #.

I didn't even need a case number. Just told my dealer I called Toyota and they took it from there.

The other thing that keeps coming up is that others, like me have a new dash PAD that isn't a perfect match.

The dashes only come in two colors - tan and grey (or fawn and stone I believe) - that is what the two part numbers are referring to.

Can we sticky this part of the sticky, Momo?

Is this still available? I just got my first T4R and the dash is severely cracked. How would one go about taking advantage of this if it is still open?
Thanks.

I am having my 2005 4runner dash replaced tomorrow morning! Should I ask to keep the old dash or is it worthless? It only has one crack along the guage cluster....

Congrats on getting to the point where you are dropping off the Runner to get it done! I doubt they'll let you keep the old one, for various reasons.

Got my dash installed yesterday.. is this supposed to be the correct color? Picked it up after dark, so didn't notice a difference until this morning on way to work. New dash looks grey, rest is black. Is this correct? If I hit it with some mothers leather treatment i assume it will darken?

Edit: just read how they only come in tan or grey. Not a huge bother to me. Doubt that noticeable unless pointed out.
