***Cracked Dashboard Action Request***

Just spoke to my dealer again, he said the B1 color code is correct for my T4R (its not, I have the Stone interior, not Fawn/tan).

It was ordered on 9/8 (7 weeks ago). Still no trace. I don't think Toyota is shipping B1's.

Also, stone or fawn, the dash pad appears to be the same color looking online.

That worries me and makes me wonder if my dealer ordered the B1 instead of the B0 for the stone interior. I've been waiting on parts for weeks.

Just doesn't make sense to me why dealer A would get the part in 2 weeks and dealer B takes 7 weeks and counting to get the part if they're ordering the same part from the same place.

Got my dash installed yesterday.. is this supposed to be the correct color? Picked it up after dark, so didn't notice a difference until this morning on way to work. New dash looks grey, rest is black. Is this correct? If I hit it with some mothers leather treatment i assume it will darken?

Edit: just read how they only come in tan or grey. Not a huge bother to me. Doubt that noticeable unless pointed out.

One thing to remember, is that the rest of the dash panels have been weathered, sitting in the sun for years getting faded, and the new dash is fresh off the manufacturing line.

Congrats on getting to the point where you are dropping off the Runner to get it done! I doubt they'll let you keep the old one, for various reasons.
Outcome:
New dash, scratched steering column, scratched shift plate and an extra bolt in my seat!

It actually looks and feels good. It isnt quite as flush as the original dash, but looks fine. The dealership is replacing my shifter plate that was scratched during install.

I'm happy enuf....

The process seems really too simple to be true. I went in for an oil change, advised them about the "letter i received."

Dealership changed the oil, took pics and said the new dash will arrive within a month.

We shall See ....

since i got mine in june i suspect i got an old parts # dash, however old one lasted 10 years so i'm not too concerned. but it matches perfectly i suspect the color mix on the "new" dashes is off from what it was 10 years ago

Took my 2003 with 115XXX in to the dealer yesterday and had the new dash ordered. They told me 4-6 weeks to get in then 4-6 hours to replace. Fingers crossed.

Had my dash replace friday. It took about 4 hours, the service manager said theyve done lots of replacments already. New dash looks perfect, couldnt ask for better service or quality part.

North Houston Dash-Update

Just got word from the dealership in North Houston that they were able to order my dashboard for me! Looks like they will be doing the replacement around the week of thanksgiving. I will respond with my experience after the fact.

Side note: Also getting a pretty sick deal and getting my evaporator core replaced while the dashboard is off. If they come through with this and don't charge me the labor that is already required for the dashboard recall-labor, they will have regained my trust! If not, and I get charged out the nose for the extra labor, ehh it's still the stealership I expected and will continue to avoid.
