***Cracked Dashboard Action Request***

called the other day, since it has been 5.5 months since they ordered it, told me I am 2nd on the list :boom:

Which dealer? I am getting mine done at Royal Palm Toyota. They seemed very familiar with the replacement program, and even told me pics aren't required since they've seen enough to know what a cracked dash looks like.

All done. Looks great. Shout out to Round Rock Toyota Service Center for fantastic customer service.

I'm having my dash replaced by RR Toyota. They ordered part back in May, still waiting for it to come in. I should give them a call. Not in a hurry. Hopefully by the time they get to mine, they'll be skilled enough to do it blindfolded.

Freeman Toyota in Fort Worth TX replaced my 2005 dash with zero questions asked. Just said they had to see a crack on it and then we did the paperwork. Took about 3 months to get the dash but when in was a day or two turnaround. came out well!

PS. Llumar makes a window tint (Air90) that is clear that I purchased in order to block UV effects on the new goodness. seems good so far.

We have been on the list for almost a year and still on the 2nd page. Hope they get to us soon so that I can get them to fix the AC as well to save a few bucks.

call call call

had similar experiences as others on this forum, but after several years I finally had success recently.

My story:

- cracks showing up, got the Toyota letter, all that. Called in and was told I was on the list. waited, waited, waited

- finally went to my local dealer. they now tell me THEY have to add me to their list, and that requires THEM to inspect the truck. OK, so add me to your list. called called, waited waited waited. Nada, zippo

- after a year or so, a service rep tells me my dash is the problem. Other colors are coming in, but not my dash. Std silver truck, black dash, taupe leather. But a black dash is now the reason. Back to waiting, waiting, calling

- I finally called in one day and told the service rep de jour that I wanted to check one last time before I went to the local TV stations and newspaper, since I was absolutely sure they had dashes available for sale, but not for warranty work. Suggested they get their story ready for local media

- suddenly, not only one dash was available but two! I said OK, I had a friend that had been on the list and hold the second one also. within two weeks we both had the replacements done.

How is that for service? my suggestion is to wait and follow up a reasonable time, then start escalating it vs believing them after all these years.

Unfortunately, I am now mid-way through the same adventure with my wifes RX 330 dash, same issue and Lexus doesn't do anything different than Toyota does, just delay and hope you finally give up.

I call them every 3-4 weeks just to check in.

I went and got mine inspected and confirmed for warranty replacement the other day. Dealer said anywhere from 6-12 month wait for the part but at least it has been ordered. Guess I will just check when I go in for oil changes every few months!

Went in today and got the green light for a new dash, pretty easy! Seems the waiting is the hardest part though, guess I'll take it on faith and take it to heart.

Went in to the dealer yesterday and got on the waiting list for a new dash, the services guy say it take 4 to 6 month for the dash to come in. I hope it come in earlier, I need to get the instrument display replace too. The speedo needle stop working for couple weeks now. at 96,500 miles so far, kind of disappointing that the instrument display need to be replace (some time all of the needles jump up and down for few second)
update:
the speedo was stop working for 4 weeks then the truck battery die. After install a new battery couple days later the speedo start working again, 7 weeks now and it still working.

FYI, I'm in Atlanta, and it took about 7 months to come in. No complaints here. I bought the Runner with the cracked dash. Didn't know about the recall until later. Now I just have to find time to take it in.....

The one on Military Trail, Palm Beach Toyota

My '04 just got replaced yesterday! Waited about 9 months since the dealership looked at it and put me on the list.

Funny though, they did a "courtesy inspection" of my truck and found about $3,500 (dealer cost) repairs that they said needed to be done. I'll handle most of them.

They said the ABS light being in is because my alternator is going out. Anyone heard of that? The ABS light was not on prior to going in for the dash. The red brake light came on later today to compliment the ABS light. I did check the fluid level and it was a bit low. First time in 4 years of ownership that the level was low.

Anyone else have these type of issues?

Just went into my nearby dealership to get it started. It took all of five minutes. He just came out, looked at the dash, wrote down the mileage and VIN, took my info, and said he'd call me in a week or so with more details, and it'd take about 6 weeks for it to come in.

Hopefully it actually comes.

Trying to ascertain who's getting this job done quickly...has yours been done yet seeing as the dealership told you six weeks?

Thx
Mark

Thank you for that info. My dealer referred me to a Toyota USA number where they promptly blew me off the phone and said I had to go through the dealer. Still waiting on reply from them, been busy and have not followed up.

New dash looks good. Of course they messed up my radio. Now, I have to find time to get it back in to get repaired. Nothing is free..... ha.

Been waiting since last October. It's at the Tansky Toyota Dealership today getting done. They said this is the first one they have done.
