***Cracked Dashboard Action Request***

Got mine replaced yesterday....but it seems like the color is off. My interior is black, but this dash seems like is dark gray that wants to be black rather than black. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine is the same, I think it has to do with UV light affects on the older parts, what has been use to clean the older parts, along with different ingredients use in making the parts then and now, I think over time the dash will probaly blend to a closer color, if not it's still much better than the "roadmap" of cracks I had before, I'm very happy that Toyota stepped up and replaced these dashes for free regardless of the slight difference in color!!

They finally did mine bout 2 months ago. They left bolts out and broke the ashtray. Plus didn't put the trim around the passenger door. They replaced the ashtray. But wouldn't replace speaker that buzzed after they did it.

Contact Toyota Corporate and file a complaint, might not do any good but at least it's worth a try!

The dealer and Tech that did mine was awesome, no complaints at all from me, I did a video showing that everything was in working order and no issues before I took mine in just case, because I have heard some stories such as your's and wanted to be prepared if anything was an issue.

Go the call from the dealer. The new dash board has arrived. Scheduled for Friday. I took it in on Dec 28, 2016. So, an amazingly fast 3 months.

There is hope for those that just ordered. Maybe they are getting caught up on production?

Other Cosmetic Dash Issue

I bought my 4Runner 6 months ago and it had a small wreck early in its life that caused the passenger airbag to deploy (or at least the airbag part is my assumption). There is a patch that has some very sticky tar holding it on onto the dash. Anyone have experience with this? Is it holding a new airbag in? Any way I can get this remedied? I would prefer to have the dash bare instead of a fuzzy dash cover on it.

Took the 2003 by the local dealership and they said they would order a replacement. At the time, the service guy said it could take a while to receive a replacement. Got an email today saying I was 10th in line at this dealership for a replacement dash. Does that strike you guys as reasonable? How long is the normal wait time?

Just wanted to tell you guys waiting to hang in there - I got my dash after a 15 month wait. The replacement dash does look nice!

Update on mine, they ordered mine after checking VIN in September. Last week got a call from service manager mine wasn't showing up under recall, small convo about then verifying my bin and taking pics of the dash.... they call back next day and I have to call corporate. 3 calls to corporate and they stated they were contacting my service depot to authorize, I called service manager to let them know. My vehicle was bought via military sales in Germany, so therefore wasn't actually in the system, its a glitch and they are honoring it as us spec and is sold vehicle but is weird how it works. Anyway get a call back this morning from local service managers boss stating they were contacted by corporate but didn't get authorization number so blah blah blah. Calling back to corporate tomorrow, it is interesting that I was told order was put in for dash in September but actually wasn't being out in till March. Not a bad wait for free but has turned into shenanigans recently. Confident it will work out but wanted to update:)

Centennial Toyota

So after 10 months of waiting, got the call from Centennial Toyota here Vegas, that my dash was in. I couldn't believe it, in fact, had resigned any thought that Toyota would honor this extended warranty, so I stopped caring. Well I gotta say, Centennial did a bang up job, and under 8 hours. I actually have to get used to not seeing my dashmat. Instead i see a bare ass naked smooth dash in all her glory. My dash was so badly cracked everywhere, that the service tech said its the worst he had ever seen. So happy this long ordeal is over, that hideous dash is gone, and my blue book value redeemed. I can't thank Toyota enough for honoring this extended warranty, also, the techs at Centennial Toyota for the stellar job. If you are in the Vegas area, go here. :bravo::bravo::bravo:

I have been waiting for Centennial Toyota to get mine in since December, just glad to see they do an awesome job.

Took mine in to get in line on 4/5, got a call today (4/8). Mine is at the dealer three days after taking my 4runner in. Service manager told me that the dash they installed 2 weeks ago was ordered in September. Guess I got lucky.

Finally got our new dash installed. Dropped it off around 8am and had it back by 1. Color is very close, but not perfect. The smell is bad for a few days.
FYI, I was on the list for 20 months before getting the call.

Finally getting the dashboard

Well after waiting 13 1/2 months I finally got the call from the dealer that my dash is in and will be replaced on 4/17... I wound up finding a great shop locally to change out my evaporator core last month. The dealer told me it would be 1300+ for the evaporator core even though they were taking the dash out anyway under warranty. My total cost at a very reputable local Toyota/Lexus specialty shop was $ 752.00 and the truck was only down for a couple of days..(the dealer says I'll have the truck back same day for the dash, we'll see) It was well worth a savings of almost 50% over the dealer. It's just a shame it couldn't have been done all at once, and I would have gladly paid a little premium if the dealer gave me a break, but not twice as much. So now they can replace the dash and make nothing but what corporate alots them.

Just picked it up! Like others have said the color is very close but not perfect. Although I do not have a bad smell at all.

Fighting with Toyota corporate on mine now it's ordered but they are saying I'm not on the warrantee extension, the issue is mine was bought via military overseas sales in Germany so it was tagged overseas first before stateside so they had to bring it over which only transfers over warranty items not extensions, did find out my "gas pedal" recall hasn't been performed so maybe not a total loss. Not sure how it's going to turn out but the saving grace may be one of the corporate bean counters authorized it however he didn't push it to my VIN so it's going to the regional office at this point to get approval of they are feeling generous...

My dealership got mine in last week. Setting up time to get this done. Mine only took about 1-2months.

Got my dash installed today, looks great besides the color being slightly off but it's better than a bunch of cracks.. I only waited about 5 months total for mine. I also just received some letter in the mail about the back glass warranty if it happens to crack or shatter due to the defrost

Well dont take your 4runner to Leesburg VA AutoNation Toyota. They cant even manage to work around my remote start so now they're making me pick it back up to 'remove' it before they can finish the install. I doubt I even go back.
