I noticed on TS solutions that a lot of Tundra's and Sequoia's have cracked manifolds even at low mileage 20K mile range. I notice that there are no 4th Generation 4runners with this problem. We must have a better designed manifold then they use in the Tundra/Sequoia. What say you??

No issues with the V8 from what I've heard. I have heard some guys with V6s in the 120 Prado have had issues with manifold leaks.
The 4RUnner probably has a different manifold as the space is very tight for the V8 upfront. The V6 is definitely a more compact engine as it has a 60degree block.

The exhaust manifolds crack cause the manifold is made of cheap material that can not stand up to the abuse of normal daily driving, also the heads/block expand faster then the manifold the cracks usually end up around the bolts.
I'd really like to know if exhaust manifolds are more prone to cracking with vehicles that are typically subjected to cold temperatures, really hard to determine if a 40 degree low in Cali or warmer states is the same as a -40 low in midewest or east coast states, not many people warm up the vehicles and most think warming it up is putting the pedal to the floor.

I hope it's just a design problem with the Tundra's and Sequoia's because it is a common problem on the www.tundrasolutions.com site. With our trucks now on the third year of production you would think you would see a lot of posts about cracked exhaust manifolds if we had the same problems as the Tundra's. At least I hope that is true.
I did a search before I posted this thread and there were no posts about cracked exhaust manifolds on the 4th generation 4runners.
