Cracked Radiator

So....I was lifting the truck to start working on her. I line the jack up with the front part of the truck frame and start to jack the car up. I make sure the jack makes contact with the frame and then start using the full extension of the jack to lift the car. Shortly after, I hear the jack slip from the frame but the truck did not fully drop. I look and it caught something.

The bottom of the radiator.

CRAP!!! (fill in your own colorful language)

I look at its only dented though...right? I lower the jack. Then I see fluid starting to come down. NOOOOOO!

Pop the hood and I see a vertical crack infront of the radiator cap.

The ONLY "good" thing is I was looking at possibly doing the radiator replacement as a preventative measure for the strawberry milkshake problem but now it looks like I HAVE to do it now.

My question to you is, knowing how the radiator got cracked now, is there anything else I should look at to see if it got damaged as well? Thanks.

The only place you should be using the jack is on the two I-beams that run on either side of car...you have learned your lesson!:rockon:

For some reason I though you could also jack the car up from the beam goes across the front of the car. My mistake. Costly lesson. :doh:

Check the ATF lines to make sure the rubber is OK (it should be).

Order a Koyo (~$110) radiator and chalk it up to a lesson learned. Buy some Toyota red or Zerex anitfreeze. If you have extra $$$ (it is the holidays), I'd get a new OEM radiator cap as well.

You can jack it up in the center. You were just to far forward.
