Cracking noise behind dash

in the past few months i noticed a loud "crack" behind the dash when i hit moderate bump in the road.. seems to be making that noise more often as time goes on, but it NEVER happened before i had my windshield replaced about a year ago - wasn't too impressed with their work, they hosed up the trim at the rearview mirror and the gasket is different along the top at the exterior, kind of creased the trim along the front of the doors where the trim goes over the windshield gasket... think it could be related to the windshield install? anyone got other ideas?

Since you said you never heard it before the windshield replacement, then that sounds like the culprit. However, you don't say anything about year, model, etc. If it's under warranty, just take it in.

Our Cherokee windshield makes a loud creaking sound at highway speeds, getting worse at higher speeds. I used to have a Camaro with a windshield that made a different kind of sound. I think it has to do with the installation and/or sealant used. It does sound like it's coming from the dash.
