Cracks from panel above glove compartment (near windshield)

Hi all,
My instrument panel above glove compartment near windshield cracking while driving on rough roads.
I selected possible cracking area on picture.
Please advice what can be reason (broken clip, insulator etc).
That cracking drives me mad :gun4:

Sorry, I mean not appearing of cracks but some type of squeak.
By the way, there are little crack in selected area I have glued before.
 
Armorall makes things look nice and shinny...but it is NOT good. It dries up and can end up cracking the vinyl. Plus the off-gassing. Anyone ever use it and NOT have their windows fog up on a hot day???

They explain it. The formula changed a while ago, but well.. you know how urban myths like to stick around.

Never had any issue with armorall and I have used it for years...

This is not me saying it is the best thing ever, but using it will not destroy your dash..... if you park in the sun, always, you should look for something with strong UV protection. A sun shade is what I also use...
 
I have always heard stuff about armourall, but never seen any first hand proof. I figured it was an urban legend.
 
Never used Armoral before, just wet cloth.
I think excessive heat is a reason. But never faced such problem on previous cars.
Instrument panel of 4runner is a piece of crap.

Please what can be reason of squeaks from selected area:hatsoff:
 
If you do a google search.....people are still complaining about this stuff.

I won't use it....never have...and the only problem I had was with a car that was 20 years old. By the time my vehicles are 10 years old they already have over 300k miles on them...so it's rare for me to keep them long enough for a problem to occur.
 
They may have reformulated, but I've still seen the dashes dry and crack first hand, so I won't touch the stuff. There are much better and safer products out there
 
Let me back up a little bit.

Aurmorall CLEANER is fine. It's their protective coating product that seems to cause the problem.

I started using this stuff sold by Toyota Dealer for $10 a bottle its pH balanced and its great! Its called "Smart" the guy told me he had never used it but everyone was raving about it. I am now raving about it, I wish I had the time to give you all the details but suffice as to say:

non greasy (I know they all say that but really this one IS) its dry to the touch even if you cake it on there!
UVA & UVB protection
safe to use on exterior plastics
recommended by Toyota
It smells Fantastic (NEW CAR)
long lasting
FOR $10 try it and compare to your stuff seriously its that good!
