Craigslist for the win?

Yep. Sometimes Craigslist actually produces. While it seems like Craigslist is typically filled with scammers, dipshits and retards most of the time, there are actually cool people who have good deals to offer.

In the last week, I picked up a barely used ScanGauge II, 2 Infinity car speakers, a nice OEM replacement bumper for my 97 and lastly two front rotors & Duralast gold pads with only 1,000 miles on them for a grand total of $104

ScanGauge II was $75. It was listed at $100 but I offered $75. Guy said since I was the only person to respond to the ad in a month — he'd go $75. (Wtf?...nobody touched it for month before I saw it.)



The OEM bumper was $25 and the guy was real cool. We got to talking about brakes and the warped rotor issue. I mentioned that mine had started with the shakes again since I did them last and that I was just going to turn the rotors and slap some new pads on until I could get around to the TBU. He mentioned that he'd just finished the TBU on his truck and still had the rotors & pads from before the upgrade. They only had a 1,000 miles on them when he decided to upgrade. He said they were in perfect condition and he could not bear the thought of tossing them out even though he had no need for them anymore — so he offered them to me for free.
Very cool guy indeed.



Lastly I grabbed this pair of Infinity speakers for $2 each. Not even sure I can use them but figured I couldn't go wrong for $4.

No. You need to mount it. And it plugs into OBD2

The ScanGauge II is a stand alone unit that plugs into your OBD2 port under the dash right above the accelerator peddle. While mine is just currently sitting on top of the steering column, I'm planning to embed it there soon.

Patience is the key. Especially with bumpers since most people never remove theirs unless they are damaged. Plus the 96-98 bumpers aren't as hated as the fatlip bumpers, so I've been waiting for about a year and half for a nice one to show up.

I'd rather pay $25 for an OEM one in great shape than $150 for an inferior aftermarket one.

It's gotten more difficult in the last year or so, being there are so many flakes.. but I've scored myself as well.

AOR front tube bumper with signals/warn fairlead for $125.

Wrecked 99' with Icon front suspension, roof rack, ARB bumper, leather interior, e-locker, supercharged 120k mile longblock and more for $1400.

Alpine PDX-V9 amp (5 channel amp), got one for $100 and another for $125.

Those are the most recent and best off the top of my head. Everything now days is a buyers market, cash is hard to come by. Non-4runner related but I just got another Raptor 700 quad this weekend for $1500 down from $4000 that needs new plastics and handle bars. Otherwise, perfect quad cause nobody will bring cash and a truck bed to get it?
