The last two times I've started my '93 3.0 it has been like this...

crank... crank... crank... give it some gas... crank... spit and sputter... crank... then finally it'll fire up and run smooth...

Never had this issue before, just started out of nowhere... after it finally starts it runs totally normal, no issues at all... cat has been cut off, so I know it's not a clogged cat... What in the world could be causing this?

Cold start injector, probably clogged and dirty. Pretty easy to service ffwd to :30 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjgAqnSFNN4 that's the fastest way for me to show u where it is.

I just bought a new one and come to find out, the pigtail ends ( the truck's side of the wiring ) the connection ends were pushed inside the connector and not making contact.

Clean that injector, careful, a little gas will come up ( should ) ,( if u loosen the fuel line end ) if it doesn't come out, then the cold start injector time switch may faulty and sending a false temp reading....

Try the cleaning and let us know if that did it !!

If you have a an ohm meter, you could check for resistance on the injector once it's unplugged.

Be careful not to loose the copper washers on the fuel line if you undo that, you can just undo the two bolts on the back of the throttle body and slide it out with the fuel line still attached. Wouldn't be a bad idea to loosen the fuel line just to check for fuel being there....

Killer! Thanks for the info! I knew there was a cold start injector on this thing somewhere, hope it just needs cleaned and doesn't need replaced!
