Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

Hey all,

I am having a heck of time taking the crankshaft pulley bolt off. I'd took the starter out and jammed the fly wheel with no positive results the bolt wont give at all. Also used WD40 and brake free nothing. Can't use the starter trick as the engine is all taking apart. New head gasket job. Just a dumb question is that nut regular Lefty loosie, Righty tighty.

I had to do this once on another vehicle. I tried for days to get it to break. I rented the biggest baddest impact wrench I could find at an Ace Rents place. Ten seconds tops and I was done. Thank goodness for that thing. It might be worth it to rent a compressor and a gun if you don't have one. I borrowed the compressor (so that was free) and rented the impact wrench for $10 for 4 hours. Best $10 I ever spent.

Thank you for the replied. I finally got out today. I heated the bolt until it was red hot and used a breaker bar and jammed the fly wheel. Hopefully smooth riding from now on.
