Thanks for the info!!! Pretty good results, IMO. I wonder why the passenger has one less star than the driver though, is that typical? The frontal test surprised me how much damage the impact zone took but the rest of the SUV stayed in good shape. Many times you see the roof and sides buckle. I know that helps lessen the impact but it still got good stars. It also got tossed sideways in the side impact, was not expecting that, but almost looks like you could drive it away after that hit! Lets just hope NONE of us ever have to test any of these features out!

I checked the safecar.gov site and do not see these ratings for the 3rd Gen. Maybe they never tested that gen for rollovers, or maybe the testing criterion changed since then?
Well I crashed my less than 2 week old SR5 on 1/21. I have never been in a wreck before and I was impressed at how it took the hit (FYI - collision was with a 1980 Suburban). My airbags did not deploy but my front bumper was pulled off and left dragging on the ground. Once I realized everyone was ok, I was devastated at what happened to my baby. He barely had 300 miles on him. I shed several tears watching him get loaded on the tow truck. It is still in the shop, I should get it back by the end of next week, I think the estimated damage was around $7k.
On a side note, I put 160k miles on the vehicle I had just traded in (Acura TL) never had an accident or even a ticket. I can't help but think of how different it would have been if I was in my old car.
Oh and he is a black SR5 with premium package and tan leather interior.

OWCH! Sorry to hear, but glad everyone is ok. That said....too bad it was not totaled though (and everyone still ok)! At least then they would have to get you a new SR5. I would hate the thought of running around in a 'new' car that just had 7k worth of damage to it, just never is the same. I hope the dealership does a great job at the fix, see if they will 'fix' your horn while they are in the front end area, it makes this funny pathetic 'beep beep' noise

I had an '06 Highlander that was damaged in a collision in Feb. of '08 to the tune of $12,000.00 (see below):
After the repairs I drove it for another year without any trouble at all.
My point, Toyota builds some strong stuff, hopefully your SR5 will hold up just as well!

So sorry to hear about your wreck Rubylove. What part of Texas do you live?I probably would have cried too.
There was probably no frame damage if it did,nt set off the airbags.The airbag sensors are right at the front of the frame.Not to worry, those are all just bolt on parts up there.Remove ,replace and repaint.

Good to hear that everyone's ok. :happens: When i crashed my '92 Supra (2 month's old), i traded it in right away for a new one after it was fixed. The value was still up there and it didn't show any accidents on Carfax. :lol: The dealer asked me why and i told him i didn't like the color afterall. :frisky:
