good start for anyone deciding they want to upgrade there headlight for the a true hid projector. its easy to install. also a good step up from factory projectors with hid bulbs.

these are the bracket only, you still need to buy the 2.0 d2s projectors. all you do is take the old halogen projector out and mount the d2s projector to the bracket first, then the whole thing back to the housing. re aim and enjoy.

just ordered a set with the projectors the recomend, i have a pair of 04+ TL bi-xenon projectors i can play with in case i dont like the ones they supply. will post pics when i get it.

^^ Against the TL projectors, the acme ones are going to be amateur hour.
I ordered a set of the brackets as well, I'm going to try to fit this to my modded RX350 projectors. This might make my life a bit easier. I'll post up the results after.

Have you also order the rx350 brackets? I think they might work with some nodding to stock housing of using 06 and up.

Nope, my stupid a$$ order the clearance brackets. If they don't work, I'll order the AFS brackets.

well i cant complain, they were free!!! FREE!!!! lol i just need to change the lense from a freshnel to a clear one
yea i bought the clearance brackets and i have an extra set of depo headlights, i was planning on retrofitting the depos with the sh*t i got from TRS (since my dumbass ordered 2 by mistake) and i'll see if i can finagle the TLs, if not then i can always modify the bracket i'll be getting from TRS.
also this is not my first rodeo, ive retrofitted TLs into my bugeyes headlights (subaru wrx 02), 05 sti headlights and 05 forester headlights. I havent really messed with the car so this will keep me occupied haha.

The projectors are ok, since they are clear and not freshnel, the light output is greater but i havent put them on the car yet. the bracket i had to modify since it didnt fit correctly on the depo light. when the other depo light shows up i'll take more pics of the differences.

The TL projectors are VERY nice... my problem is they are attached to my Acura TL...
...and a part of me wants to rip out projectors from a perfectly good working car to put them on my 4Runner...
Thats how much more I like my 4Runner haha.
So I have a 2007 4Runner, want better lighting. I've been reading the forum regarding HID's, and am close to pulling the trigger on the TRS setup, with the following components:
-Retroquick adapters (subject of this thread)
-D2S Morimoto Elite HID 35w
My time is in relatively short supply, so turning this into a project that requires more than 10 or 20 hours to complete isn't really feasible.
So my questions:
How much time would this project/HID retrofit take?
Should I get some spare headlights to take my time on the retrofit?
I don't want to affect the reliability of my car, but realize any modifications can have that result. Any comments on HID failures? Will I be able to easily find replacement ballasts/bulbs for this kit in the future?
I have an aftermarket bumper without fog lights. I was (long term) planning on a small LED light bar on the bumper, as there is a mount for it. However, it seems that those light bars are still best left for offroad usage. Any comments/suggestions on fogs, or using LED light bars for fog light purposes?

it took me about 2 hours taking the housing apart, painting the chrome with trim black, modifying the bracket since it didn't fit right, putting the projectors in, testing it making sure it works, and sealing it. thats just for one headlight and that was with me taking a couple of breaks in between. i could probably have done it quicker if i didn't have to wait for the paint to dry.
hid's hardly ever fail, do not be fooled by the LEDs they sell now in day, they have no distance, they are just bright but they don't travel far. HID is still the way to go.
no led light bar, you are gonna be blinding people.
