Creaking noise in 04 Sport

My wife new 4Runner Sport has a creaking noise when ever the truck is tilted by driveways, speed bumbs or just a sharp turn. Has anyone else experienced this? If I take it to the dealer what are my chances of them actually fixing it correctly?

When you take it in, be as specific as you can about the noise, and offer to take the service manager or tech for a short ride if you can reproduce the noise. That helps them to know what you're referring to, and if they acknowledge the noise on the drive, then they can't back up and claim there isn't one.

What I typically do when I have noises I want checked is to take out all my stuff from the truck to eliminate possibilities. Several times I've heard noises that have turned out to be my toolbox or something else I've put in the truck. Fortunately, I've figured them out before driving 40 miles to the service department I use.

I think there was a tsb issued for that...was regarding the body mounts...
dealer should be able to take care of it for you if that's what is causing your noise.

Thanks for the info guys, I will try to get in on this weekend. This I know trying to get the manager or a tech is difficult to get even with advanced warning.

It may sound weird, but when I had a noise (not on a Toyota) that was not able to be reproduced by the dealer, I took a video camera along with me in the car and video taped the noise so they actually saw how it was reproduced and heard what it sounded like. I showed the video to the dealer and they knew what it was!

About the noise on your truck, I don't have the slightest clue what it is. I don't think I have it on mine. Do you hear it with the radio on?

I had a similiar noise in my T4R. Have you tried lowering the rear seats to see if the noise goes away? I slapped some electrical tape on the locks for the rear seats........ problem solved.

Had not thought about the seats, I will try it. But it does sound like its coming from the suspension. Its sounds like its coming from back of the cabin toward the passenger side.

Sounds like what I had. I took mine in to the stealer and they fixed right up. Turns out it was one of the body spacers.

Believe it or not, after I read this post yesterday, I noticed that mine was making a similar noise. Like a creaking coming from the passenger rear seat area.

I got out and lifted up the rear seat bottom, unlocked the seat back, and then firmly locked it back in the up position and put the seat bottom down, and the noise seems to be gone.

It seems like there is something in the seat back latch that if it's not locked completely, makes a little noise as the body twists.

BTW, I thought it was Duct tape that fixed everything?
