Creaking Noise in Rear

Does anyone else have a creaking noise coming from the rear when going from forward to reverse or vice versa? Sounds like its coming from the springs. Its a 4WD SR5.

Could it be the chain holding in the spare tire? My chain dangles/hangs below the spare tire.

I have this same issue. Since day 1. Seems to be much worse when the engine is cold. Any resolution to this?

"Going forward to reverse", do you mean that you are pressing the brake and shifting from forward to reverse?
I have the creaking noise when I do the above shifting and it is very loud some times especially when engine is cold. I think it is coming from the brake pad rubbing and drum.

^Yes, that sounds exactly like what I'm describing. Annoying though as none of my other 4runners have done it and its louder than any other vehicle I've ever heard...

No, not on mine. Since I think it is brake pad rubbing, I am not worried about it and live with it.
I had other noise or rattle that I concerned more on my truck but now I also kind of get used to them as nothing is getting worse nor better.

I am actually going to get my 4runner service tomorrow for the 10,000 miles service and let them know the issue. I know mine does it when you step on the brakes and put it in D or R.
