I just had the extended Icon w/reservoirs installed on my SR5 4wd. Since having it installed, I had no problems. About a week after the install, I started noticing creaking noises coming from the front end. The sound is similar to an old hardwood stair case; not rattling or clanking sounds. It happens at acceleration and slow speeds. With the engine off, if I hold onto a wheel well and rock the car side to side, I am able to recreate the noise. I got under the car, removed the skid plates as checked for any loose bolts but was unable to find any. The only thing I did notice was that the center of the sway bar was in contact with a beam that was attached to the frame. Could that be causing the noise? Anyone else experience something similar?

Spacers need to go under the supports to space them away from the sway bar on non KDSS 5th Gens .Should have came with the Icon's for 5th Gens along with the sway bar relocate spacers.

O, I definitely don't have those. Are the spacers part of the normal icon kit? If not, where can I get them? You think that's where the noise is coming from?

Who did the install?I know for a fact that that's where the noise is coming from.Call over to Icon and they'll immediately know what support spacers your talking about and send you some out.
I was the first to discover the noise and it rubbing when I installed my Icons and notified Jeremy of the support additions to strengthen the frame in the 5th Gens as they were not on 4th Gen 4Runners. I just took my sway bar off when I saw/heard it rubbing the first time and trying grinding it down some and added the spacers later .Now I don't even use the front sway bar anymore.

Just make sure to tell them you need the support or bracket spacers and not the sway bar relocate spacers that they should have put on already(hopefully).

Glad you got it fixed as that makes quite an nasty annoying noise.
Genius??? I wouldn't go there! lol ...Remember,I'm the one that tried to file a groove in that hardened steel support with a rotary file so it wouldn't rub as my first fix!fail....Like grinding on a rock!

Hey, I got a question here. I just did the same lift on my limited, but didn't relocate the sway bar, so didn't use the spacers either. Is sway bar relocation necessary?

I had relocator once and then I took them off because my sway bar didn't rub the coilovers. My question is why the same lift requires different setup for sway bar? I think sway bar are same on SR5 and Limited.

i doubt [MENTION=8206]harper7[/MENTION] will respond as he hasn't been around and actually sold his truck a while back, sadly.
fwiw, Shrockworks and i believe at least one other co. require removal of those radiator support brackets to install their front skids, so take that fwiw.
good luck with whatever solution you pursue.

How much of a gap are you getting between the sway and that driver side support brace? I'm getting about 1/4" after using 2 of the Icon thick washers they included in the sway relocate kit. Is 1/4" sufficient to account for flex or hitting a dip/bump hard?

iirc, that's about what i have on mine...not sure you need more than that...i've put mine through a lot of trail driving and haven't seen any evidence that it's rubbing

Thanks [MENTION=94082]apollo[/MENTION]. I just installed a Stage 2 also with the tubular UCA. Icon instructions were very vague regarding the support brace spacers. They included 12 thick washers but the instruction sheet hardware count only mentions the 6 to be used for the skids. The need for the support brace spacers has been known since 2013 and Icon has decided to not include that in their instructions I think due to liability reasons.
