Creaky passenger seat?

We've talked a lot about creaky drivers seats, but has anyone encountered a creaky passenger seat? I had my drivers set replaced and have noticed that when someone is in my passenger seat it occasionally creaks and pops like the drivers seat used to do.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have just noticed that my passenger seat is making some creaky noises when there is a passenger in it.

When you had your driver seat replaced was it a big ordeal for the dealer to hear the noise and decided to replace it?

I'm comming up on 36,000 mi and want to get things like this taken care of soon.

Yes, it took some time to diagnose and replace the seat, but your dealer should notate the day you take it in as the starting date of the issue and if it extends out of the factory warranty it should still be covered. However you may want to consider the extended warranty folks discuss in various threads on the forum.

That is a good point about the start point of the problem.

As far as the extended warranty goes I already have the 7 year 100,000 mi Platinum coverage which is bumper to bumper. So I'm good to go there.

Very cool. It seems the extended warranty will be very useful to replace our seats... Everything else seems to be built well except the dang seats.

I haven't followed this problem. But when we got our 4runner four years ago both seats squeaked. I pulled both of them out and sprayed every metal to metal joint with lubricant and they haven't made a sound since then.

Jason,

That's the best scenario possible. Unfortunately most of us haven't been so fortunate. I had the driver's seats replaced in my 2006 and 2008 4Runners. There are a few threads on the forum that document some of the trials and tribulations we've had with this issue.
