Crickets in the pumpkin?

Over the last year I have noticed that when I reach constant speeds of 70mph+ I develop a high pitched cricket sound coming from the drivers front engine area. The noise is not based on speed as I can vary the throttle (minor) at that speed and the noise stays static. I drop down to 50mph and the noise disappears.

Is this a wheel bearing going bad? What about normal gear whine coming from the front diff?

Maybe it is just the cheapo tires singing on the blacktop? As the noise usually eminates from a particular section of freeway.

The noise is similar to a cricket in constant chirping mode. There is a TSB for engine harmonic somethinganother, could this be it?

BTW...I have a V8 and full time 4WD.

Any suggestions?

And it only happens when I have been driving awhile.

I was going to change the tires in the next few months, so I will definately wait to see if that solves the issue before having the Toyota dealer take a stab at it.
