Cruise control not working & brake light stays on

The float in the brake fluid reservoir prolly has a pin-hole in it,,, and it's sinking, periodically. If there is adequate fluid in the reservoir,, just disconnect the leads that attach the top cap of the reservoir.
I chased this problem for a couple of weeks, until I got a clue from the board.

It should work. The float senses low fluid, and turns on the brake light. When the light comes on, the cruise is kicked off.

Same problem here...unplugging the wires on the master cylinder cover worked.

Just keep in mind that you then lose the warning if your brake fluid gets low. It may be worth fixing or replacing the cover and sensor.
Parking Brake Switch
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I bought my 1994 4Runner SR5 last summer and have had nothing but joy from it. This is really my first problem with it even though it has 140,000+ miles on it and it's not really even a big deal, just annoying mostly.
My parking brake light has been stuck on recently, so when I had a chance I stopped by our local service station and the mechanics knew exactly what the problem was. A little piece of metal hardware, that actually looks exactly like the hardware on adjustable shelving units, had fallen out of a hole on the parking brake handle assembly. The mechanic put it back in and said they fall put all the time and said if it happens again to just pop it back in. Well two days later it fell out again and when I went to put it back, I couldn't figure out where it goes.
So if someone could describe where the piece that fell out needs to go or if someone could post a picture that'd be even better.

I think I know what you're talking about, and it will mount on the bar that moves in and out when you pull the brake. If you look under the dash by the brake lever, towards the back of the lever you will see a button that turns the light on and off... That little piece is what pushes the button when the brake is off.
yeah, I saw the button and the rod that moves with the parking brake handle, but I wasn't sure where the piece that pushes the button fits into the rod.
Next time I am at my car I will take a picture so that things will be easier to talk about and maybe have the location pointed out to me, as it was probably right in front of my eyes.
