Cruise control quit working 2000 4RNR

Hi All,

On a recent trip I could not get my cruise control to work. Not sure how long it has been out. The indicator light works, and does not blink.

One post I found in a search here said it might be a fuse. If so, which fuse would it be? I checked both fuse boxes and did not see one specifically for the cruise control, but I may have missed an abbreviation. I looked pretty close and did not see any that were burned out, although I did not pull every single one to check.

If it matters, my rig is 4x4, 3RZ 4 cyl 5 speed. The last maintenance I had done was having the diff fluid changed to synthetic, not sure if they could have knocked a wire loose then. I also have some lamps for the heater controls that are out, but they've been that way since before the cc quit working.

All help in diagnosing this will be appreciated!

the fuse will be in the engine bay. Check wiring and it could be a bad sensor too so just a process of elimination.

I bet they adjusted your clutch pedal?? You'll have to re-adjust it...

+1 on this. Remember that the clutch has a switch that shuts off the CC. On my '04 Taco with the 5 speed I had a problem getting the CC to stay on. Turns out my clutch pedal wasn't all the way out - when I pulled on it with my toe, the CC worked fine.

If the electronic CC module is not working right the Cruise light should be flashing on and off.
