crunch noise front right tire

I've noticed on three occasions now, when I do a left handed U turn, and if the front right tire hits a bump "like going over the edge of pavement into the grass", I get a really nasty crunch noise from that wheel. The tires are the original Michelin's "in great shape too, suprised". The truck as 52k miles, an 05' V8 AWD.

Anyone else have this problem in the past? I don't think it's a major problem. Is it possible the tire is rubbing? I wouldn't think it would, seeing as how it seems like an elementary design flaw to avoid. I can't find any rub spots in the wheel well. Possibly a tie rod end, ball joint, etc?

Conclusion: Apparently my steering stoppers were dried out due to northern winter road salt from the previous owner. The service tech put some oil on them and it has stopped making the noise.
