crunching sound turning corners

now i've heard all i need to do is grease something up? is it that bar that connects(maybe its the bar that turns the wheels left or right??) both the wheels and goes under the front diff?

looks like a bent bar for weight lifting

I think you're talking about about the anti-sway bar.
It could be making noise if any of the bushings are worn out.
But you'd replace them, not grease them.

If it's a crunching noise, and only when you turn, it could be a bad CV joint(s). Again, you're talking replace.

If it's more of a screeching sound at full steering lock, it could be the plastic caps on the steering stops are gone. Grease would help with that.

I get a clacking sound when I hit drive ways and my sway bar bushing are shot as all hell. So that's my first task replacing those bushings?

before replacing anything i would call the dealer there is a recall on the front ends of the 90 4 runners and other models to. I am not sure what all the recall covers because i am putting a new motor in mine and have not had it to the dealer yet. you might get lucky and that will be a part that they replace

Steering rod linkage or somethin like that I already had it replaced and they washed my car for me. I couldn't even find it becuase it was so clean I didn't recognize it.

its defo not the cv's, i'll look into both the other points you brought up!

My steering rod linkage is making the noise it is really lose and I think that is what was recalled they were supposed to have fixed that. It's on the passenger side if you pull on the tire it moves big time.

I looked in my service manual today and took the cap off the top of the idler arm and there is no bushing on the top where there is clearly supposed to be one. Stupid idiot mechanic at toyota forgot to put that crap in there. I'm taking it in tomorrow and talking ish to the service manager. But first I'm going to ask what exactly is done step by step to repair the recall then I'm gonna call him on it.

I would think so. If it went on like that long enough I'm sure it would mess that whole section up because it is metal on metal. I called yesterday and they special ordered a the part for me. $2.71 a piece I bought the top and bottom. Might as well since I have it apart right. I'm going to fix it myself that way I know it was done right. Bas****s!
