My 2003 T4R LE came with the 10 system JBL system. No IPOD, No Bluetooth, poor sound. My finance are los wo I am replacing the system piece at a time starting with the head unit.

Having the JBL system I needed a special harness to connect the head unit. I wanted to connect the steering wheel controls too so there is another harness. I order the stuff from Crutchfield. It arrives and I have 3 sets of instructions and a note directing me to their website for more instructions. I have a bag of resistors and a lot more stuff. The instructions with the harness were not real helpful.

I did what I could and then I call Crutchfield tech support. I ended up calling them a total of 3 times during the installation for different questions.

These guys are GREAT. It was like they were in the car with me working on the installation. Their instruction was spot on.

The head unit is in and the steering wheel controls work. Everything works, thanks to their help.

Buying stereo gear, check out Crutchfield, they support wjat they sell and they know how to support it.

My system sounds really good now so I wiil hold off on repkacing the amp and speakers.

:iagree: Crutchfield is top notch. The speaker adapters did not mesh up quite right with my aftermarket speakers, I gave them a call and they overnighted another set of adapters no charge to me. Their prices are a bit higher than some of the other car stereo folks, but the "extras" (customer support, adapters, harnesses, etc) are worth the additional cost.

You really can't go wrong with Crutchfield. I have always had friends in the audio business and had a hard time going to them for equipment when Crutchfield was the same price with all the extras included. Glad they got you to where you needed to be.

Unless you REALLY know what you are doing (pro), Crutchfield is the only way to go!

I'm would like to know more about what was complicated about the install? I would like to do the same with mine, I don't mind the way the speakers sound, but six disk is overkill and no USB or bluetooth is a bummer.

The complication to me was making sure I got the wires correct between the 3 harnesses. Then programming the steering wheel was a little confusing.
Then my system had a Sirus attachment at some point and I was not sure if that still needed to be in the system or not. It did not so out it came.

Maybe it was only complicated to my simple mind but it sounds great now and I did not pay to have it installed.
