I took a Spill Master seat caddy from Wal-Mart and halved it like Dewey Cox...

Then I quartered it to approx. the same size as the console insert thing...

Then I secured it to the metal thing that holds the back of the insert.

I cut the switch bezel off the insert ad cut a hole in the bottom of the glove tray thing and mounted my switches in there. I know this is sloppy, but I did it all in about 15 mins. I will trim it up pretty later with some black rubber. I may also disable my window lock and wiper switch (I don't use them) and mount the window switch in the blank in my dash where the overdrive on/off indicator would be (above and to the right of the stereo.)

I finished and trimmed the cup holder with black rubber and relocated the up/down button to the dash where the blank for the overdrive on/off light would be.

I hope you never regret this... Those consoles are SO hard to find in decent shape.

Check this out for a switch idea.

3 Gang Switch Panel

I just took a $1.00 cup holder meant to go in the window and closed it in the glove box.

These are also very common. "The wedgie"

Naw, no worries for me dude, I have several consoles sitting round. As for the cheapo in the glove box they break when your old lady hits'm with her knees and it is in the way of the glove box. Never tried the wedgie but looks like it would be in my way on my side and hinder function of the slider eat on the pass side. The switch idea is cool, but I dont use my rear wiper or the lock button. This is the and result:

I like it... I dont have the power ant or the rear wiper so I am going to put the window lock button and the rear window button in the same locations. Did you have to extend any of the wires?

looks good. I did what you did where the buttons used to go. I cut it out and i have something special planned. I have a center console out an 05 altima that will be going in!!! when i get it done i will post pictures!!

Those switches in the dash look good!

Will free me up to do just about anything I want with a different/new/fabbed console.

Thx,
Jon
