Cup Holder - 4th Generation

I didn't see that the center divider of the cup holder had wings. Reading the Owners manual turns out to be informative. Flip the little wings out and it secures cups smaller than the hole pretty well.

LOL, yeah it pays to RTFM :nerd:

I do wish it closed more though, just so it can get even tighter on those smaller cups. When I got my Tall White Chocolate Mocha, I still have to throw in some napkins to keep it from moving around. I guess, I should just order the Grande...

Oh yeah, the also have a light so you can see them in the dark, but I'm sure you saw that even without reading the manual ;):
 
LMAO, I read the manual but must have skipped over the 'how to use your cup holder' section. I've been upset for the last 2 days about that damn cup holder. Maybe now it'll hold my cups.

Gotta love this forum!
 
Still waiting for them to put an A/C vent under it....a friend's Mercedes has that to keep drinks cool.

pull out the entire center section and move it over.

I don't think they'll ever make a cupholder good enough fo me. There is no position to hold a Venti coffee tight. Plus since the cup is so tall it is top heavy which makes the cupholders not deep enough. Oh well I'll just have to live with it because I sure ain't giving up coffee or the truck.:D

I found some insulated mugs at Sam's that are tall, but not top heavy (a pair for about $10). Being top-heavy is always the worry with a tall cup.

You might check around to see if you can find a similar cup locally -- maybe you buy the Venti and pour it into your own cup. Plus, if it's insulated, it stays hot longer.
 
I agree with the suggestion of buying a mug but then I would either have to wash it every night (not gonna happen) or buy 5 or 6 mugs to last me the week. I may actually go with buying the mugs because I am so sick of spilling and worrying about my coffee. Besides you get a 10 cent discount (whoopeee) if you use your own mug and I'll be creating less waste.
 
Ok, I moved it over but this is usless. Now the left side cup holder is too small to fit any kind of cup and the passenger side is too big to fit anything other than a MikeeDees Super Duper Big Gulp!

I'll stick to stuffing napkins, it works for the girls in middle school and it works here :D
 
Its funny how car enthusiasts choose thier coffee mugs the same way they approach thier cars performance. You gotta make sure it has a low center of gravity so it can perform well in the twisties!

I've been cussing that cup holder since I bought my '03 10,000 miles ago. I've flipped out or spilled more coffee in my 4Runner than I have in all my previous (about 25) vehicles combined. I live in my car and use it for an office; I NEED GOOD CUP HOLDERS! or at least better ones than these!!! :D
