Cup holder inserts

Here's a silly question. What do you do with the insert when removed for larger bottles? I rarely remove mine, but when I do I haven't figured out where to temporarily store the insert.

^LOL. I just have mine in the center console, it's actually at the bottom and has some chap stick, croakies, etc inside of it at this point. I just removed the front insert to fit nalgene, yeti etc bottles then have the insert still in the one closest to center console for smaller bottles, coffee etc

I put it in the cup holder, its designed purpose.
