Cup Holders for the 1st gen?

my 87 manual dose'nt have the bezel, but the 4wd shiftier goes way forward and right, in the same air space as that one.

That is what I figured. The 3rd and 1st gens don't have enough space for a double on the passenger side of the console. I'm guessing the 2nd gen will also just have enough space for a single cup holder only. Not sure what the 4WD auto will offer in space. Need to see some pics of it. Can someone post pics of their manual and auto 4WD consoles?

Finally got some pics of the 2WD 2nd gen cup holder installed. Looks like a really good fit. It clears the dash and shifter and still allows decent movement of the passenger seat. some movement is lost and I will get back to you guys on exactly how much movement is lost. Now I need the 4WD auto and manual bezels to work off of. Free cup holder goes to the person willing to loan it to me for a week.

So the 2WD 2nd gen double cup holder is officially done with design. The final smooth version is on the printer now. I am now ready to move on to the 4WD auto and manual. Anyone willing to loan me their console for about a week? You get a free cup holder for the help. My local Yard does have a couple 4WD autos but no manual tranny 2nd gens.

My 2nd gen cosole measures as follows.

Top half. 7 5/8 long, 3 5/8 wide, 4 deep

Bottom half. 12 in long with taper at back, 4 1/4 wide with taper, 5 3/4 deep.

Pretty sure it's the same console as one of the 1st gen ones in a pic in an earlier post.

If my first gen design doesn't fit, I will make one that does and ship it all back for free. If my current design does fit then I will still ship you the cup holder for free. I could definitely hang a double off the side like I did on the 2WD version but it's going to hang pretty far off the side. Not sure that will be too enjoyable for the passenger. I will have to sit in a 2nd Gen 4WD with it installed and see how it feels. I could also put a single cup holder and possible cell phone slot in that weird shaped hole in the center of the console. That might be there on the 2WD, 4WD, and manual tranny. Still waiting to see pics of the manual tranny console.

You can hang as many as you want, and they lock securely into the glove box.

Just the part that goes around the shifter. From the time you ship to the time it's back on your front porch will be 2-3 weeks. The first perfected prototype will be shipped back with it for free.

From whatever generation Tacoma a '99 is. Fits perfect, just have to make sure the second one is collapsed before moving front seat up. Color's off, but I'll figure that out.

I've got a center console like the one of the left. These are available in manual v6 4runners/pickups, carbureted 4cyl pickups, and some automatic 4runners. The pocket is big enough that you could easily make a cup fit in there.

I have had a lot of requests for a cup holder for that location but nobody willing to loan me their console. I am open to developing a cup holder if your open to loaning me your console for a couple weeks. The cup holder will be free to you if you cover the shipping to me. I will cover the shipping back to you. I am a teacher and start my summer break on June 9th. That would be the time for me to work on this project.
