Made a custom cup holder

Couldn't deal with the flimsy pop-out cup holder on my '93 4Runner any longer. Coated the small nick-nack tray in the center console with wax to act as a release agent, also applied to the outside of my favorite water bottle. Then carefully poured Bondo putty inside the cavity. After curing, did a little trimming and sanding. Now I've got a sturdy holder right where I want it. (There is a commercial cup insert available, but to me it sits too high.)

That is a great idea. Never thought of bondo in that application but if it works then awesome. We went with the 3D printed approach which allows for a bit taller and deeper design.
