Time for an update. I have been working on the cup holder insert for the square hole on the center console. It was a bit challenging since the two different versions I had were not the same but I wanted one design to fit really well with both. It took 5 versions to get it right. Here is prototype 5.0. Understand this has not been sanded or painted yet and was made at a lower quality setting since it's only a prototype, but you can at least get an idea on what I'm doing. It will hold a cell phone including the largest phones on the maket. Will also hold a cup, two pens, and a storage compartment in the back for whatever you can stuff in there. I also notched the cell phone section so you could run a charger from underneath. You would need to cut the factory black square hole and that may not be appealing for some. The finished products with good pics will be coming soon.

They will probably just come in a flat black. In regards to the console with the rear window switch; I'm not sure if it will fit. From my research I think there are 3 different versions of the square hole on the first gen and my design will fit two of them. I have not been able to access the 3rd option. You could order one when they become available and let me know how it fits. If you were willing to take pics and send them my way then I would do a large discount for you on the purchase. If it doesn't fit then ship it back for a full refund and I will cover the shipping cost back so you wont be out a cent.

So I just got some info on dimensions for the 3rd console option. I can say with 100% confidence that my cup holder insert will NOT fit in it. I might be able to make an insert that will work but I'm pretty sure there is not enough space no matter how I go about it. Here is a pic of the one that will not work with my cup holder. The two on the left fit great. There is also this other console (2nd pic) that I can't get much info on but by just looking at the pic I can say my insert will not fit in it either.

Totally impressed with your ingenuity. I've got the 3rd console option, but the armrest/lid is long gone (as i imagine it is for many other 1st gens). I have a habit of keeping my hand on the shift knob anyway, so don't miss the "armrest" option.
Maybe you could engineer an insert for the larger portion of the console compartment without lid...
Any other 1st gen owners out there think there's a market for that?

I agree with the no lid option. My lid has been missing since i got the truck. A drop in with even its own lid would be killer! Id buy one!!

Well shame on me for not looking at this whole thread... bhicks has already fabricated an insert, and clearly there IS a market cuz there's only a few left in stock on the BH3D storefront.

Glad you found it. I have two double cup holder inserts for the inside of the large storage compartment. Sold about 50 of them over the last 6 months. I plan to make another large batch of them in the next few weeks.
Apologize for the delay, im rebuilding/finishing my interior center console. Here are some pics of the cup holders that Brad made. Truely awesome work by Brad! Cant wait to get them into my trucks. Fits a drink and a phone with some room to spare, can fit my iphone 6S with mophie case). These will fit in '84-88 v6 trucks/4runners, '84-88 automatic truck/4runners and 22r carb truck/4runners. They will so fit whether or not you have the 3 switch panel in the center console. It only allows 1 photo per post from my phone so bare with me. Will get installed pics once its in the truck
