Cupholder Repair

New 4runner owner here. Purchased a 96 Limited at the beginning of the year and have been lovin it so far.

Last week my cupholder crapped out. I'm aware of the Cupholder Mod but can't find any center consoles on ebay or elsewhere so I decided to fix the broken cupholder.

Materials needed: 2 General purpose rivets
Cost: < $1

Pictures should be self-explanatory.

Using drill bit size of mandrel:

Note: You should cut the rivets just long enough so that it takes a little bit of pressure to get them in the holes you've drilled (picture below)

I have been searching threads....does anyone know how to remove the cupholder assembly from the dash? I need to repair mine, too.
