Curb Sensors?

Well I feel kinda crazy to have to ask this question, but I'm not near my runner to verify this........

So my wife asks me the other day ( she mainly drives the Toyota ) If I knew that our 4 runner has a curb sensor? She says that the car has beeped at her a couple of times now right before hitting a curb while turning?

Well my answer was "apparently I must be a better driver" since its never beeped at me for hitting curbs! :D We all know where that led the conversation.........

I honestly don't remember reading anything about it in the owners manual, and I personally have never had it beep at me.

Can anyone verify that a 2007 SR5 has this ability or should I be looking for other causes of this beep?

I am out of town for a couple more weeks and don't have access to the car, or else I'd try to read or replicate the "beep" myself.

Thanks to anyone with info.......

Has she taken a road trip to snow country? My only guess is traction controll kicking in. That does beep. Note to self: Stand one stride futher from curbs when in Florida.:D

That was my thoughts, traction kicking in....hmmmm. I asked if she saw any lights come on when the beeps happened, but we all know what happens when you ask your wife too many questions! She says she saw no lights, but I know better than to question what she saw.

Well, I have to guess you are right about it being VSC, I didn't think they had any sensors on them!!

Oh and don't worry, I'm sure it's just the curbs on the route she's driving here in Florida :D

Maybe the beeping she heard was her cell phone ringing and she hit the curb while trying to dig it out of her purse???

:p
