Curious What People Think of This Interior

Just as the title says. Saw this 4Runner for sale and I glanced over the ad. Nice clean 2002 Sport Edition. Then I got to the interior and I almost :barf: in my mouth. Was just curious what others thought. I'm definitely not trying to get on anyone if they like it. Different strokes for different folks.

I have to thank you for finding this, wait make that my wallet thanks you. This is exactly like my interior minus the black leather of course, and I have been thinking of getting some black leather seat covers, but after seeing this I don't think so... maybe if I went with an all black interior swapping out carpets, painting consoles etc etc but who has time for all that hahaa. well back to square one, looking for some grey leather seats from a wrecked one.

It's weird because I like seeing the black and silver contrast when on the exterior. Not sure why I had such a strong reaction to the interior. It is clean, but...

Ehhhh....given that it actually matches some other things that were already colored black (e.g., steering wheel, some center console stuff), it doesn't look absolutely TERRIBLE. I mean, yellow accents/seats would be terrible. LOL

But if I were going to replace everything like they did, yeah, I wouldn't have gone with that color. Dark grey, maybe, but not black.

I may be the minority but I like it. I do think a black carpet would look a lot better though.

PBR is right with black carpet, it needs it. And how about the center arm rest? I would have to say the dash needs to be black too.

That said, it looks to be well done. I'd probably forget about it after the first week.

Doesn't seem balanced. Judging from the plastic fittings around the headrests this was a retrofit..

As an aside, if you're looking at buying that truck you may want to have the occupancy sensors in the seats checked. Unsure if a reupholster could potentially damage the sensors.

I've got plans to Corbeau Baja XRS seats in my truck along with a some 4 or 5 point harnesses. Corbeau sells seat tracks for just about all applications, so win win.

Then some black matching seat covers for the back.

Gonna leave the door panels and stuff and just get some black Weathertech digital fit liners.

I think it should be well balanced... the posted truck is just some black weathertech mats away from looking good. Then again, I think black fits better with oak than gray.

there is not enought black on the rest of the runner to justify that. i like silver and black contrasts too, but i think there needs to be more black on the runner. maybe if it had black wheels and bumpers and some sliders... or if it was an older runner that had the blue/grey and black interior then it would flow a lot better. i would love to have those seats in my runner though, but i also have the black bezels around the instrument cluster and shifter console... something on that rig though is not letting it fit.

Would I buy it like that for upwards of 40k off a dealer lot in 2002? Heck no! For that right price now, given the condition it seems to be in - yeh, I could live with it. Might take some getting used to. But, as was said already, given that it matches other things like the door inlays and the steering wheel and shifters, etc., it doesn't look as bad as if, say, it was an Oak type interior that someone just put black leather covers on the seats. Very nice looking T4R on the outside!

I think that interior and truck looks great , and I love leather as long as it heated.

I hate tan leather. Seems to get dirty so fast and so easily .

Black heated leather is a win win, but the price on that 4runner is pretty high

I like the seats... I think the panels looks awful. As do the buckles and all that...

The seats though, yeah, I could handle that...

I definitely agree that some black mats would help. Just too much contrast for my tastes. It's not so hideous that I wouldn't understand others liking it. Like the title says, just more curious as to people's opinions more than anything else.
