Custom Steel bumper: Need Help

I have a friend that can weld a bumper for me right now. I'm 2wd so it mainly is for looks. However, I wont be paying any labor for it. I'll only be paying the metal. The thing is he cannot/ or does not have the machine to weld/bend tube steel. Only square or rectangle welds.

If that means plated bumper. Have you guys ever seen a custom plated bumper? something simple.

However I'm more towards the tube bumper style, but if you guys have any bumpers that look like tube bumpers..but are not tubular in shape please share! I want to get some ideas and show him to hopefully get this rollin

Tube bumpers that are not tubular in shape? I don't get what you're asking.

Does he have equipment to cut plate?

Nevermind, I think I understand. There is a guy that did something different with some angle iron. His name escapes me for the moment but I'll look it up now.

thats my kinda idea.. u have some more angled shots? i would like to add hoops of some sort but with square metal might not look good

Kinda looks familiar.

It could be pushed closer but with a winch, it had to be at this distance. It has really increased the approach angle. I don't have a tube bender so I had a hoop bent.
A few more angles.
You want to tie into the front of the frame and the side frame mounts.
I did a mockup with wood.

That looks pretty cool Gerdo! When I first pictured square tubing....I was not thinking it would look that cool! lol! Nice job....and definately a good alternative!

+1 on the practicality part. Still much stronger than a stock bumper. I'd still add a (skid) plate to hide the winch though.

I'm currently running a homemade front bumper made of different sized tube.. I'd like to make a newer, stronger, better welded one. Problem is finding someone with a tube bender... Welding isn't the issue.

Looks great Gerdo! I am correct in seeing that it is mainly constructed out of 2" square tubing? How many feet, roughly, did you use? And did you make that winch carrier, or did you buy it?

Check your local muffler shops... You can also buy pre-bent angles and elbows to weld together...

Or send your drawings to one of your supporting vendors and they can send you back some bent up tubes that you can weld up yourself...
