Custom winch bumper

I came up with a few more designs and I think I have narrowed down on this one:

Only weighs 70 lb compared to the original which weighed 110, and it sticks a little more true to the prerunner style that I like. Hardest part will be cutting the pipes to specs so they will fit together.

I like this idea. I love the way my bumper looks with my Desert Dune 4R, and I'd love to keep it. Eagerly awaiting pictures!!

Done!

Finished my bumper last night and it turned out fantastic! I'm going to take pictures as soon as it's light out tomorrow. I believe the final weight of the bumper was around 50 lbs, so I'm pretty happy with that. Coated it in Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner and it looks pretty sharp and will be easy to do repairs. The winch itself sits between the frame horns in front of the radiator. I ended up getting a Smittybilt 9500 XRC for $300 because of its low height. I am going to wire it up this week probably and give it a test run! Taught myself how to weld and manufactured all the parts with a band saw, bridgeport mill, and angle grinder so this was a huge learning experience for me in metal working. I have yet to figure out where I am going to put my license plate, but my buddy made a mount from maglight holder clips that snaps onto the fairlead. I like this route as it's easily removable and not too expensive. I've got a three hour road trip tomorrow (all highway) so that'll be a good road test.
