custome bumper...front and rear for around 1,000??? can it be had?

i need front and rear custom bumpers. if you found a deal other than the ARB or the TJM, let me know! i am hopping to keep it close to $1,000!

$1000 for both front AND rear? That'll be tough. You could possibly find some, but I'd guess they'd have shotty weld-jobs and crumby material. But if you do come across a good source, post it!

2 sheets of .12"x4'x8' diamondplate or sheet metal $230.00

Add a week or two of after work labor plus te cost of beer

TOTAL $628. plus additional mounting hardware, various nuts and bolts etc..

then when you're done you still have the equipment laying around to make more stuff

my friend has all that stuff, we've made bumpers for chevys and a bbq pit that goes in your reciever hitch. soon to start on a rear replacement for my 4runner.

man, if it were only that easy!! i am moving to hawaii in novemeber and i live in an apartment! nowhere to conduct the custom job! believe me, if i could, i would!

good luck. the only way to do it is fabbing your own, and that is not easy or quick at ALL.

i am still in the midst of a rear bumper build with a buddy who is very talented... we just cant get the damned thing done.

itll be done in the next week or so, i hope. right now it looks like this

still need to cap the ends, silicon on the stock bumper pad, weld on 2 protective hoops on the sides and paint.

the most important part of making your own is measuring twice or three times, then cutting or welding once

we measured it, tacked it together and it was great

then when we welded it together, it tightened up...

one thing i'm going to do with mine is make it entirely out of cardboard, every piece. then take each piece of cardboard, trace it out on the metal. this way i can minimize wasted metal, and i can see what i'm making.
