Cut my muffler off, and yeah it sounds GOOD

I guess the redkneck in me finally came out again. I was just so sick of not being able to hear the damn thing that I sought on drastic measures and cut the muffler out. Not to mention the pipe sticking out looked stupid. I hate the ricer sound on most of these aftermarket exhausts, sounds louder when the RPM's are on the way down! The TRD system sounds great but I'm not dropping that much $ into a V6, especially a trail rig. But this is more ME, I'll add a resonating chamber and turn down and see how that works out. The cat is still there so there's no code and it seems to keep enough back pressure that I didn't loose any power, maybe gained 1 or 2hp....arty: Whatever, at least I know when its running now.

I'm real glad that it sounds good.

After driving 70's and 80's beasts from America, the 4runner sounds like a minivan to me. I'm fed up with not knowing if it downshifts going up hills or not.

I'm thinking magniflow strait through this summer, I'll keep you guys posted.

If you are using it as a DD, then i wouldnt reccomend doing this, it may be great when your wheelin down a trail, but after 30-40 miles with no muffler it starts to give you a headache.

The younger the driver the louder they like the exhaust but yes,after 50 hwy miles it probably will get a bit old and obnoxious. It does sound good but i'm not into atrracting attention on the street just simply driving in traffic. Plus having the exhaust sound compete with my stereo or a simple conversation gets a bit old too and I klnow cause I drove this which makes you non-mufflered 4Runner sound like a Prius.

It's not to bad at 70, that's about my top speed going to work. But mostly stuck in traffic for 10mi, I hate Florida drivers! I love it more and more every time I drive it! Most of my driving is at 45, right when the converter locks up and drops RPM's to 1500, that's the sweet spot.

This isn't loud enough to make me want to throw a muffler on it. I'm not bothered by exhaust drone at all, my 90w JBL's scream over it.

Sounds good, but my 25 minute commute would prove to be a little too noisy for my liking....bad enough my Bighorns howl loud enough you have to raise your voice to talk to someone if the windows are down! HE HE HE!

Overall, I like the sound, just not sure I'd want to do it though.....:cheers:
