I have a 1990 4Runner V6 5 speed, with 125k miles. It has been running perfect except for this 1 problem.
At freeway speeds (5th and 4th) power will totally go out for 3-5 sec, then kick right back in. I am pressing the gas but it's acting like I've let off completely. If I put the clutch in it will stall. It seems to happen only on long trips (100 miles or more).
The car just passed smog by a mile, has a new air filter, oil/filter, new spark plugs, and had the head-gasket recall done.
I was thinking fuel filter, fuel pump, O2's maybe. Anyone else ever seen this?
