Has anyone done the mod of replacing the studs on stub axles with bolts. The one online tech write up is kinda vague. Can this be done on the vehicle? And if anyone has done it can you provide a little detail. Also can any one explain a little more about this darn c-clip. I have seen all kinds of write ups on how to "pop" the axles out of the diff but what is happening to this c-clip and how does it go back in upon re-installation?

the clip comes out with the axle. it sits in a grove or vally at the tip of the axle and can be reused. but be careful when reinstalling, you can damage the splines on the diff.
