CV Boot Clamps

I've noticed there has been a lot of leaking CV joint boots. I found talk of replacing the clamps that someone posted on the FJ Cruiser forum (www.fjcruiserforums.com). They talk about doing it themselves but use "marine" or boat clamps to replace the ones they took off the boots. The reason for using the "marine" clamps is that those clamps are not as wide as the ones bought at an auto parts store. The website is above and just do a search for: CV Boot seeping Grease ? SIMPLE FIX !... - Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum[/url]
The place they bought the clamps is West Marine and their website is West Marine: Home Page just do a search for the (stainless steel #304) clamps. The sizes that the cruiser guys use are: SAE: 1" X 1 5/8" or Metric: 25mm X 40mm and for the large ones, SAE: 3 1/2" X 4 5/8" or Metric: 90mm X 110mm. I hope this helps someone. I hope the sizes are the same for our 4Runners.
