CV Boots Blown... AGAIN

So almost exactly a year ago I posted that my CV joints blew out right after my lift was installed. It's almost a year to the day and I went to change my oil today and just saw both side are blown out AGAIN. WHAT THE HELL???

Now I will say I bought whatever Advanced Auto Parts sold and that probably aren't the best out there but still. So I wanted to know if I can get some better boots and just replace the boots on the newer CV joints. I also wanted to ask what else I can to to avoid replacing these annually. I could just have bad luck but somehow I don't think that's it. Can I drop the diff more? Is it recommended? I can't be the only one who's got this problem

Ok All Pro Off road offer CV inner boots that are to handle the higher angles. Also a trick that the long trravel sand buggies use here in So Cal use is putting powdered graphite between each of the ribs on the boot. This helps minimize the friction and therefore the splitting. Also if you have the threaded body coil overs then you can crank them down a 1/4 inch and that should help.

maybe CVJ axle in Denver will ship you some for cheap... click on the neoprene boot in my sig... they are super flexible and sustain higher temps

you can literally bend the axle in half and the boot doesnt come off the end...

Another question... I got the 1" diff drop form 4Crawler. I didn't see the option to get a bigger one. Can you get a 2"+ diff drop? Has anyone done that if so? Would it be an easy switch out? Would it help in the long run?

My fear is that because this is a daily driver it's going to blow out again. I actually looked a some cars this weekend and I'm thinking about getting something to drive to work a few days a week to relieve some mileage on it.

the 1 inch diff drop should do a ton for your cvs. there arent any 2" available, and I heard that it would get in the way of other stuff.. but I do know that people have added several washers with the 1" diff drop to get about 1.5" and that signifigantly changes the angle of the axles..

as far as boots, did CVJ say they would ship the boots to you? otherwise find an axle reman shop in your city/town and see what they can do.

Still no update, I'm thinking about just buying another axle set at Advanced and getting the swap over with.

I've got to replace mine as well, but for the first time though. I put my lift on without adding a diff drop and my boots weren't too happy about it. Needless to say the boots are blown, but the axles seem to be in good shape. I've seen several write-ups and am pretty much leaning towards replacing the axles entirely, instead of just the boots. I've seen a few online, but would rather buy a quality one that won't shit the bed in a year or two. Got any suggestions, other than the AutoZone stock?

Think Napa has some.. not sure if Autozone, but whoever has lifetime warranty
