Cylinder 1 Misfire... Please HELP!!!

Ok so I have a major problem with the truck and need some help troubleshooting since my mechanic and I are completely stumped! (This is the first problem I've had with it since I've owned it...)

It all began one fine evening when I was leaving the wonderful parking lot of Target and the truck began "chugging" and vibrating real heavily and the check engine light came on soon after.

SO I drove straight to Advance and read the codes. (cyl one misfire is what came up)

Round 1: So since I would have now way of getting to this area of the vehicle, I took it to my mechanic who decides to do a simple tune-up to see if it will fix it... No dice!

Round 2: As I'm driving away the first time I notice its still acting up. So I take it back the next chance I get and decide it may be the first coil... Strike 2!

Round 3: Drop it off for a "full diagnostic"... Guy still doesnt have a clue.. But says he'll call up some troubleshooting hotline with the problem and the code its reading and find out....

If you ask me, my mechanic just won't admit that he doesn't know wtf he's doing...

Bottomline: Can anyone help me figure this out??? Has this happened to anyone else before that's fixed it!???

If the code keeps coming up the same, cyl 1 misfire, and you've changed the plug and swapped the coils, more than likely it's the injector.

I agree with kball. I had the same problem but with cyl 5. I changed the plugs, wires, moved the coil pack around and still had the problem. I replaced the fuel injector and it was gone.
