DAC and Accent Control noises

I just got my 08 and was playing with it off road and when ever I used the DAC it would make a horrible noise basically sounded like the BS engaging but loader and really choppy . Is that normal? Also when I use the accent control it makes the same noise.

Totaly normal Dude.

thats the DAC working correctly. It basically causes the anti lock brake system to turn on and off, very quickly - which causes the noise and keep the T4R under control

If you touch the brakes or the gas it will turn off and only turn back on when speed is very low, like 1 to 3 mph

So it just occured to me, I can use this function when I'm wheeling and going down (or up?) steep hills instead of just using a low gear or having to put it into 4Lo? Obviously if it's rough terrain I'd have it in 4Lo, but I got really tired of riding the brakes! Next weekend I'll have to try this out.

Just down. But if you're wheeling you should be in 1st or 2nd gear anyway. The DAC can be left on but you have to get used wheeling that way. As soon as you head down a hill and let off the brake for a second it will engage. Sometimes a little surprisingly. Personally, I'd rather keep it in 1st and use the brake if needed.
