DAC On The Fly

I have used my DAC a lot to get down steep slippery slopes and the system is amazing. But every time I have attempted it I am always fully prepared. I am stopped at the top of the hill, I put the car in 4Lo, turn on the DAC, and start my decent.

Would the DAC system work on the fly? How would it work? Has anyone ever done this? What I mean is lets say you are already starting down a hill and start to lose traction while only using the brakes, can you engage DAC as you are sliding and let off the brakes?

Also does the DAC system work with the diff locked? I have never tried that. Does it work better (hard to imagine since with it unlocked it works flawlessly).

It definately works with the diff locked. You can just "leave it on" and it will engage as required, if you follow the right usage (i.e. the right gear, foot off the brakes).

Are you saying you can drive the entire time off roading with the DAC on and it will only kick in when needed? Then when you go down a hill and start to slip you can just let off the brake?

Speed less than 18mph and in low range. You can turn it on in motion or not. When turned on or off in motion it engages or disengages slowly. It will disengage with brake pedal input then re-engage (if necessary) when you remove your foot. Since overall stability is improved on a steep downhill descent with the center locked, in that sense DAC will work even better.

If you've stayed under 18mph and in low range with engine on, it should, though I've never done it for long periods to verify.
