dash clips above glovebox

the corner of the dashboard right above the glovebox is pulled out on my truck and I cant figure out how it attaches. can someone with experience shed some light on how this piece attaches? There is a metal loop looking thing on the piece sticking out, but when I push it in its like there is nothing inside for the metal loop to attach to.

Its hard to describe, a picture is worth a thousand words in this case:

i think that is a very common problem with these trucks. My 2000 does the same thing, and I have seen several others come through the shop that have the same issue. It looks like it is just glued down.

No, its not glued down there is a metal tab behind it that holds it. The tab (metal loop thing you described) just needs to be folded over. I had the same problem, just unscrew the glove box, and there is also a plastic piece that will need to be removed above the glove box too I think, then you can get your hand behind there and you will see what I'm talking about.

 I'll check when I get home. Thanks a bunch! I tried bending it a bit then "stretching" it to fit, but didn't realize I could get behind it.

as someone previously said there are tabs that poke through and twisted so it stays in place....i have one here ready to go in mine cause mine has a couple small slits below the air bag...here's a pic of the backside of that same spot.
