Dash kit installed

Here are some pics of the medium burl walnut dashkit I just got from Carid.com. I'm not affiliated with the company-- I just thought I'd include the source to make it easier in case someone wanted to order one too.
Anyway, the flash lightened up some of the wood, but it looks most like the second pic down in real life.

Your 4runner is disgustingly sexy. Just want you to know that. :sobbing:
It looks goos. Surprisingly flows even with the black interior.

Sorry man, I'm not feelin it. Fake wood just looks wrong, especially in a 4runner.

If you like it, then thumbs up. However, I am not feeling that wood mann. The wood just doesn't look right in a 4R. Even in the land cruiser, the wood is borderline visually UNappealing. I mean it looks decent because it is sparse and only on select trim pieces (refer to picture below). Wood everywhere just reminds me of a used glorified honda accord.

I think it looks good. Bravo. I looked up the product on Carid and did not find installation instructions. I assume these are glued on pieces?

Glued on and permanent. I had a 80 series LC with these and tried to take them off when I bought it. The glue and plastic basically morphed together and looked like sh#t. There was nothing I could do to fix it.
 
Sorry, not feeling it either, but it is YOUR 4R so if you like it that is all that matters. I have seen very few cars/trucks/suv's that could pull off the wood look, factory, not even aftermarket.

Stickers?!?!? No, No way. I clicked on the link and honestly thought I was going to see actual plastic parts replaced.... Not stickers(decals) applied over the top! Is this common practice in cars?
 
D@mn dood! I thought for a sec that you were talking about the Metra Dash Kit. I was about to say, How the F did you get a hold of it before I did?!

Anyways, it's not for my either - just not diggin' it. But to each his own.
 
My personal oppinion is if the silver parts were painted black before applying the wood to them, they would've looked a lot better. The silver + wood + black just slaughter it. Toyota is going overboard with the silver crap in their vehicles. These damn designers have lost the "tasteful" touch in designing new car interiors.
 
Toyota should have used that ripple material of the dash on the area near the glove box. That type of plastic is so 90's...
