Dash Lights Failed. Running Lights Work.

Anyone have their dash lights stop working? I was messing with the switches after installing the 2000 center console, and definitely could have messed up the switch. I removed the dimmer switch and all connections seems solid and untampered/broken/bent/corroded.

Finding these switches in self pick n pulls are once in a blue moon, i will start searching to begin the diagnosis.

Any other ideas? Could the switch be shorted? All fuses are obviously fine and none were ever blown doing my mods.

So i tested the wiring harness for DC, and it has power. So the switch is obviously pooched in some manner, anyone repair a dimmer switch before?

Part store wants $175 plus tax for an aftermarket replacement. Awesome.

Just short it. Lights will burn full on. That's where I keep mine anyway.

You can trying spraying electronic contact cleaner in there and working the knob. It won't work forever, but it can sometimes give you a few years. Or do nothing at all.

Lol i did actually end up jumper wiring the switch. I never turn them down anyways. Then i electrical taped it, tucked it away, and installed the bad switch for appearances and called it a day. Switch? I dont need no stinking switch. :cowboy:
