Dash warning lights lit for apparently no reason...

I recall reading about someone having this happen before --- but I was unable to find it while searching.

It was a rainy day here in Tallahassee on Saturday. I got in my car to leave the mall parking lot and drove for about 2 minutes when I noticed that several warning lights on my dash were lit. I think there were 4 lights in total that were on ... The VTRAC, the one that looks like a car skidding, the e-brake light, and one other one (possibly the TPS? ... can't remember). The car felt like it was driving fine ... and my e-brake was not on. I pulled into a parking lot, turned the car off, and started it back up. Everything was normal after that.

Anyone have this happen? I am assuming it was just a hiccup in the ECU ....

You might have gotten some water into the electronics from the rain. I had a sensor go bad but it did not effect the e-brake light just the other lights. It also did not reset until the sensor was replaced (I believe it was some kind of yaw sensor).

Mine did the same thing once when I was backing out of a parking place.

My warning lights went on and it went into diff lock also. Not just the light but it was on dry pavement and as I was making a short turn I could feel it binding up.

I could not turn the lock off by pushing the button so I stopped the engine and restarted it to clear it up.

It has never done it again.
