It has almost been one year since I purchased my Toyota 4Runner v8 limited and have been very satisfied. 20,000 KM (also bought a 7 year or 200,000 KM warrenty)Yesterday I had my first significant problem with the vehicle. Last weeken we recieved 30CM of snow . Not a record but enough. I love ring the bell. Some of the back roads had not been plowed for a day and 1/2. Sometime I go into a skid the truck vsc did not go off.(did a hole 360 and kepted going, then a min later I slid..... an inch and ding ding ding. This seems to be intermittent. I could not figure is out.
Then last night when I was driving and the vsc went off ....the check motor light comes on and then the vsc is turnned off and the svc light is on.I took the 4runner into the dealer and they said it needed a co2 intake unit .(Is this the catalytic converter?) They also said that this shut down the computer system thats way the vsc is not on --it shut it down . They didn't have co2 unit in stock. So one will be here tomorrow. Come to dealership pick up the vehicle drive it home. Come back tomorrow and they'll put it in.(No service loaner..... it was safe to drive)
Any comments on this would be great. When I go back tomorrow to pick up the vehicle is any specific questions I should be concerned about or should be asking?
I still don't get this vehicle stabilization system alarms off and the motor check light comes.(So, what failed) the vehicle stabilization system or coincidently two problems I have a CO2unit problem and a vehicle stabilization problem or what ?
